A Snowy Winter Day at the Palace – Family Photographer in Seoul, South Korea

My last session of 2023 has turned out to be one of my favorites of the year. It’s not every day you get to take portraits at the palace while it’s blanketed in snow. Donna and family were visiting from the Philippines a few days before Christmas, and I booked them in as my last job before taking a break for winter. About a week or so prior to the shoot, we had record high temperatures all over Korea, which made the weather feel like spring again. This made me think our session would be a walk in the park. However, Korea threw us one of its signature curveballs and we had to shoot in -8 degree weather (yes, that’s a minus sign). Being tropical folks, we definitely had to work hard for our photos that day, but we stuck it out and we were able to get some lovely images. The palace roofs accented by white snow were especially lovely.
