A few of weeks ago, I had the great pleasure of photographing my good friend Jun and his fiance, Hiyeong. Jun was one of my first friends when I came to Korea. Jun owns a local music school, and we became fast friends through similar tastes in music. To this day, we still play together in a band. Jun’s motto is “music is my life” and it takes a special kind of girl to roll with this rocker. Jun has found that girl in Hiyeong. Always full of life, Hiyeong has stolen Jun’s heart with her spunk, not to mention her silky-smooth singing voice. I’m really happy for them and I truly believe they are on the path to their happily ever after.
For the first part of their engagement session, I had originally planned a very warm, sun-drenched afternoon shoot. But as these things go, the weather did not cooperate and rescheduling was not an option. Fortunately, cloudy days provide very nice, diffused light. Besides, the lovely couple radiated enough warmth to brighten up the dreariest afternoon.
For the second part of the shoot, I wanted an edgier feel, so we decided to do a secret agent style concept. Jun and Hiyeong have a hot little Kia Forte Coupe that I wanted to include in the session. So we went over to my apartment to shoot the final scenes, mainly because our parking garage is usually empty. I had a lot of fun doing this shoot and it was a pleasure capturing this important moment in my friend’s life. I wish them all the best!
