I’ve photographed many families in Seoul’s palaces, and they remain some of the best locations for photoshoots in the city. The palaces are not only easy to access but also offer a perfect blend of traditional Korean architecture, natural beauty, and great light year-round.
One of my favorite palace sessions last year was with Alka and her family during the summer. They arrived well-prepared at Changgyeonggung Palace, wearing modern takes on the Korean hanbok with beautifully chosen colors and fabrics. The ladies also incorporated elegant Korean-inspired accessories that added thoughtful detail to their outfits. Against the palace backdrops, these touches made for some truly memorable images.
Below are some of my favorite moments from the session.
