I work all over South Korea as a photographer, with couple and family sessions making up a significant percentage of that work, especially in the autumn and spring seasons. However, I’ll have to admit that I don’t get very many sessions in my hometown of Tongyeong. It has become a popular destination for Korean tourists, but I don’t think it has carried over to expats and foreign tourists quite yet. Hopefully that will change, because Tongyeong has wonderfully mild weather and so many beautiful locations to shoot in.
Understandably, I was super excited when the Ma family got in touch with me to do a session in Tongyeong. Their family left Korea a long time ago, but have roots in the coastal city. It was a short but sweet session and we had a blast making memorable photos by the sea.
